Nola vibe with cuisine to match. The waitstaff were attentive and even snapped photos. I ordered the breakfast beignets with praline bacon on two of the three as my finish partner is a vegetarian. Outstanding does not fo justice to the mouth watering experience. My partner had vegan chicken and waffles. I am happy to share it was two thumbs up. I ordered the shrimp and grits for my entree. I only wished the grits were thicker (a bit too loose for my taste).

Sugar Freak specializes in New Orleans cuisines (Jambalaya, Po'Boys, Chicken & Waffle, Beignet). The inside of the restaurant looks very antique and gives you a vibe that you are in New Orleans. The service was fast, and food did not take long to be prepared. We tried the Mac & Cheese, Shrimp Basket, Chicken & Waffle, and Chicken Po' Boys. The portion size for each item was large, and you would definitely be full after the meal. Their chickens were dry and needed extra sauce and flavoring. Mac & Cheese is a must get. Shrimp Basket came with fries. The crispy fried shrimp were made perfectly. Overall, this is a unique restaurant with a peculiar interior design that is worth checking out. I would recommend getting their seafood options and Mac & Cheese. You can skip on their chicken.

Yato is bias here. Yato only ate here once and the food was good but he never returned. However I have a story to share. I like the owner lady. Nice lady. When Yato was a wee lad, he worked with animals. Owner lady went and put a lot of care into her animals and he really cared about their well-being. That showed Yato a lot of character. Over a decade later, Yato remembers because Yato has seen his share of abandoned animals come through the pet store. But this owner? Really cared. Really nice. Yato was even offered a free meal but Yato was shy, never took up on the offer. But Yato like good hearted people because they're rare. So 5 stars, bite me. I write my reviews how I like. This place deserves it for kindness alone.

Solid and consistent! Have been coming here for years and let me tell you this place delivers!! The food and service here is amazing! We always get the poboys here and they are delicious! The ambiance is great as it gives you a NOLA vibe! One thing I wish they had was alligator poboys! Drinks are great and a bit strong but they are drinks you'd get in NOLA and their local beers!

Everything we tried was so yummy and they were pretty good portion sizes. Our absolute favorite was the beignet sliders with mac and cheese. The sweet and salty combination was so good and we've never had anything like it. Service was very attentive, our food came out in a timely manner, and drinks were refilled without any issues. There is a lot of seating in the restaurant and there's outdoor seating as well. The ambiance is very lively. We saw that they have a bottomless brunch and it looks like a super fun place to do that with a group. Would love to go back and try that!

Second time here. Nice experience the first time, decided to return. The food is seasoned well. The eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. The bacon was crispy and tasted of good quality. The potatoes are cooked with onions and peppers and lightly seasoned, goes perfect with any plate. The service is good. Randy was attentive and easy personality. The vibe is chill! The furniture is fun and mitmatchy. I will be back

Brunch on a Friday! I've had Sugar Freak on my radar for a while. I was finally able to pop in for a Friday brunch. I wanted to give their bottomless option a try but unfortunately it's required that the entire table participate. That's not something my designated driver could do so I settled for a margarita. The margarita was good and strong. My meal of choice was the catfish with waffles. Hands down some of the best catfish I've had! Full of flavor, perfectly seasoned and soooo crunchy. Just soooo good!!!! I loved the rustic setting in the dining and bathroom areas. Can't wait to come back and experience the bottomless options!

First time trying jambalaya and I loved it! Very flavorful (on the saltier side but I think that's the way it should be), came out HOTTT. The chicken is a little dry but still well seasoned. Swamp Juice cocktail was good--pineapple was prevalent. The Beignet Sliders were delicious (I personally love the sweet and salty combo) but soooo messy. I ate the last one with fork and knife LOL It was a quiet Thursday night, just a few tables. Service was meh, they just took your order and brought you food. Could be better.

Another update for ya as it's been a minute since I've been to Sugar Freak. This time it was on a rainy and quiet Thursday night. The Louisiana Summer cocktail was good but it confirmed I'm not a big fan of Mezcal. Beignet sliders are still delicious, but know that if you eat them with your hands it's gonna get messy. I opted for the creole shrimp and cheesy grits and they hit it out of the park. Didn't see the muffaletta on the menu (even checked the brunch menu and it looks to have disappeared) which makes me sad. Finally, service has always been a bit subpar but not terrible. Just wish the staff was a bit friendlier. P.S. Bathroom is still awesome!
